This is an art project perfect for a kindergarten to 2nd grade substitute lesson plan. When you have to take a sick day, you never know if your sub is going to have an art background or not. This is a simple, one page art handout with goals, steps and an example. In order to print out the full, high resolution handouts, visit my TPT shop for the FREE download!
This was a lesson idea a former colleague shared with me and I wanted to share with other teachers.
This drawing activity uses markers, crayons or colored pencils and involves students tracing their hands and then using the primary colors to color it in.

I think it’s important to have emergency plans set to go and handouts printed ahead of time in case you wake up one day with an illness that prevents you from going in to your classroom to prepare.
I created a number of other print-and-go handouts for sub art lesson plans. With this bundle, the handouts are already created and ready to print. Each sub plan is also available individually if you’d rather pick and choose only certain plans.

And here is one with inspiration from Richard Scarry!
