Hello! I have been working on a series of “print and go” substitute teaching plans for elementary art class. These will be set up with goals and steps clearly written for a sub. You can print off these handouts for the students, gather supplies and have things all set to go in case you have an emergency illness and need to stay home. Some I will be offering for free on my blog and others will be in my shop. With this sub plan, the idea came from Adam Ming, who is an illustrator. I signed up for his Substack and he shared the idea of different drawing prompts and how he was inspired by the work of Richard Scarry. Adam has a lot of interesting ideas about creativity. I also have loved the artwork of Richard Scarry and thought his imagery of drawing animals in creative cars was really fabulous. With permission, I am sharing this image in a printable download for you to use in your classroom for personal use. Below are the images from the handout. If you try to print from these images, the words will not be clear. Go to the Animals in Cars handout on my Google Drive for a clear, high resolution printable version.
I hope you enjoy this easy substitute lesson plan and be on the lookout for more ready to print and leave sub plan handouts coming! Click on the image below to see a whole bunch of art sub handouts perfect to leave in your substitute lesson plan binder.
