Tinfoil Figure Sculpture

Here is a fun 3-d project I did with my 3rd-5th grade classes as an asynchronous (at-home) art project. We have been hybrid for a little while and some of my classes are still fully virtual. I have been giving out asynchronous assignments and then having 1 live (either in person or virtual) art class per week as well.

I found this handout online from Shoshy Art, which inspired this project. I created a step-by-step video for my students.

Here are some of the wonderful tinfoil sculptures that were turned in.

A tinfoil figure in a kicking pose stands before the "Infinity Martial Arts" logo displayed on a screen.
A tinfoil figure depicting a person doing a split and raising their arms on a classroom desk.
Tinfoil figure of a person playing volleyball on a sandy beach court with a net and trees in the background.
Two figures crafted from tinfoil—one resembles a dinosaur, and the other appears to be a sitting person or sculpture.
A large fluffy dog looks at a smaller dog figure made from tinfoil on the floor.
Two tinfoil sculptures posed against a light blue fabric backdrop, one standing and one sitting.
A figure made of crumpled tinfoil posing as if dancing, with shadow on a wooden surface.
A hand holding a handmade ballet dancer sculpture crafted from tinfoil in a classroom.
