Art with Hearts
Are you looking for some Valentine’s Day art projects for kids?
First things first, I created a slideshow of 5 artists that use hearts in their artwork! This is a great way to tie in art history to your heart art project. You can show this slideshow which features a range of heart artworks and then have your students create their own heart-inspired artwork using their own choice of media and creativity. Feel free to use the slideshow with your students to show them some heart themed artwork. Perfect for Valentine’s Day! If you are looking for some more structured Valentine’s Day art activities, keep reading, because I will share a whole bunch of creative ideas for your kids!
The five artists that I used in this slideshow maybe are already known to you, many bloggers have used their artworks in heart themed lessons: Jim Dine, James Goldcrown, Chris Uphues, Romero Britto and a new-to-me artist EttaVee. Someone posted on a Facebook group about her artwork and I am in love with the bright colors and brushstrokes. Her artwork was recently on the cover of the Blick catalog.

Enjoy the slideshow and feel free to show me any projects you have done inspired by these artists. I’d love to see them!

I bundled up 2 Low-Prep Valentine’s Day Activities- a “What Lives in My Heart” drawing worksheet and a Valentine’s Day word search. You really can’t beat the price!
Collaborative Heart Painting: A couple of years ago we made this beautiful heart artwork inspired by Romero Britto, which we auctioned off for a school fundraiser.
Over the years, I have done a whole bunch of heart themed artwork. It’s a fun and festive theme to use near Valentine’s Day. Here are a few old blog posts for some ideas.

Grand Rising Great Ideas Thanks for sharing.
I prefer to follow social media accounts that reflect an artist’s unique personality, and which don’t just feel like a grid of paintings.
