How Well Do You Know Art History?

How well do you know artists throughout history?  Take this quiz to test your knowledge.

If you are reading from a blog reader or email, you may need to click on over to the actual blog post.

This past week I had the pleasure of attending the National Art Education Association conference in Chicago, IL.  I have lots of information to share with you from some of the great sessions I attended.  Coming soon will be updates from my experiences at the conference.

I also spent a few hours in the Art Institute of Chicago.  Right now, there is a special Van Gogh Bedroom paintings exhibition.  This was really fascinating and his paintings are so powerful in person.

A framed painting depicts a bedroom with a yellow bed, wooden chairs, a table, and portraits on a blue wall. While walking through the art museum I took photographs of my favorites, as well as some of the ones that are famous for various reasons.

I snapped some pictures of some of the paintings and sculptures I saw at the Art Institute.  I did not get around to the whole museum, so the quiz does not represent all of art history.

Here are some of my favorites.

I like this one because it is a painted collage of fabric samples. The concept of creating a collage by painting the elements is interesting to me.

I love how powerful this image is, showing despair and psychological imprisonment (at least that’s what I get from it.)
