Rubber Ducky Art Project for Kids

Discover a series of creative rubber ducky drawings with "Rubber Ducky Art" in vibrant yellow above them.

While vacationing in Michigan this summer, I came across some really cool public sculptures of different themed ducks.  You can see pictures of these sculptures on this previous blog post.

At the beginning of the school year, I showed my students lots of examples of these public sculptures and we talked about how one of these public art exhibitions works.

Then, they used a simple duck template and transformed it into any sort of themed duck they could imagine.   Some of the themes included Batman, clowns, Minecraft, outerspace, abstract, surfers, ninjas and lots more.

Here is a bulletin board with some of our ducks.

On the left is a Donald Trump themed duck!  I love how the student on the right transformed his duck into a dragon (his favorite creature.)

Children's drawings: left, a bear in a tie holding a mug; right, a blue dragon with wings and a pointed tail.

These are some mixed media ducks using decorative tape, magazine images and tissue paper.

Three duck collages for a fun art project: the first is pastel with polka dots, the second is blue with various cutouts, and the third is purple with a yellow head. Kids will enjoy creating these Rubber Ducky inspired pieces!

What grade would you recommend having the kids draw their own ducks?
