Hi there! Are you participating in Nic Hahn’s massive ATC swap with schools all over the world?! If you missed the sign ups for this, don’t despair. There are other ways to make and swap ATCs. You can set up your own swap with another school or your kids can swap with each other in your classroom.
What is an ATC?
ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. They are miniature works of art the size of a baseball card.
Nic Hahn has a great video explaining what an ATC is all about.
I introduced ATCs to my students this week and we started by watching this excellent video about mixed media trading cards from Arteascuola.
Then my students used magazine pages and paints to start their collage. Next they will add colored pencils, markers and rubber stamps. Pictures of these awesome artworks will be coming soon, of course!
I wanted a way for the kids to easily and neatly write their information on the backs of the cards. Here is an ATC back I made. If you would like to print out the full sheet of ATC backs at the correct size, go to my TPT shop for a FREE DOWNLOAD!!!
