Top Posts of 2014

Hi!  I hope you all had a very merry holiday season.  We had a great December here, other than our kiln setting off a sprinkler at school and causing some minor flooding and damage.  (That was a disaster.)  I usually do a year in review on my blog every year just for funsies and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something.

First I will share my personal highlights (in chronological order) and then I will share the 10 most viewed blog posts.

Art Ed Blog of Year Nominee:  In February, I was a nominee for the art ed blog of the year by the Art of Ed.  While I did not make it to the top, it was still an honor to be in the top 20.  Badge with text "Art Ed Blog of the Year Finalist 2013," a red ribbon, and a geometric circular design in the background.Desmond was born!:  On April 19, 2014 the cutest baby boy ever was born!!  He is such a delight and so big.  He was 10 lbs. 6 oz when he was born and continues to be very sturdy.

Here is a recent picture of him.

Somerset Studio Gallery:  This past summer I had some artwork published in Somerset Studio Gallery magazine! 6 pages!  It is such a beautiful magazine and I was so thrilled.

Talked to an Awesome Artist:  This fall I had the opportunity to interview William Wegman on the phone.  William Wegman.  Oh my goodness, I couldn’t believe it!  I wrote about an art project we did in my 3rd grade classes in response to his artwork.  I really can’t believe this blog post didn’t get more views.  I mean, how often do we actually get to hear first hand straight from the artist?  It’s like when our social studies teachers show the kids the difference between primary sources and secondary sources.  They need to use some primary sources for their National History Day projects.  Anyways, that was a highlight.
