Free Art Videos to a Good Home & Re-Art Swap!!!

Three educational art DVDs: "Dropping in on Matisse," "Principles of Design," and "Getting to Know Color in Art."

Three free VCR tapes to a good home!  Just leave a comment.  First come, first serve.  Only in the US please.

What is the story behind these videos?  Well, this weekend I volunteered at one of my favorite events of the year… the Re-Art Swap at Absolutely Art, a local art gallery.  You bring in bags of old art supplies that you don’t use and can pick from piles of stuff that other people bring in… all for free!  It’s amazing.  Piles and piles of fabric, papers, and STUFF.  An art teacher’s dream.  These videos were ones that I already have at school.  I noticed at the end of the day, no one picked them up.  All of the materials that weren’t picked were either donated to a thrift shop or boxed up in storage for next year.  I figured there had to be an art teacher reading this who would love them.  So, let me know if you want them!

I got some really fun stuff for my classroom:

A scattered pile of black and white vinyl letters and symbols, including $, R, L, and others.

Someone brought in about 10 boxes of random vinyl stickers. I couldn’t resist! I think I’m going to have some students cut them up and make collages.

Assorted art supplies including pencils, crayons, fabric, wrapping paper, and an animal-themed stamp set on a table.

Stamps, fabric, oil pastels, Twistables, glitter

A variety of craft supplies, including tempera paint bottles, yarn, colorful feathers, and other materials on a table ready for a creative session.

yarn, feathers, almost full paint bottles!

Vintage holiday cards and illustrations are laid out on a table, depicting festive scenes and traditional attire.

This was for me! Fun vintage ephemera for collages.

Awesome videos! And great idea for art teachers to swap. We have a swap at each meeting throughout the year. One teacher’s trash is another one’s treasure. I would be interested in the videos also. Thanks for the opportunity!

I would love to have these videos if you have not given them away yet. I have been teaching computer skills at my local technical college. After my mom passed last year I began art journaling as a way to get through it. Before that my only endeavor into art was calligraphy. Not only did I find that I have a natural ability toward art I also found that I have a burning passion for it and plan to pursue it with full force! I began teaching the youth at our church and want to go back to school to work with autistic children. I have followed your site since I began and want to say thank you for sharing yourself!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
