Maybe you are a brand-new teacher and didn’t even realize that you should plan ahead for unexpected days off. Or maybe you have already experienced not having a plan B in place. When you wake up sick, the last thing you want to do is be writing out lengthy sub plans for your sub. Make a plan! Gather ideas and have them ready to go in case of an emergency. All you will need to do send some art sub plans (like these) over to your sub and they will be all set to go. If you are in the middle of a clay project, it’s probably not a good idea to leave clay with a substitute teacher (unless you really know they can handle it.). These are some easy drawing ideas with simple supplies that any classroom will probably have (pencils, markers, crayons.).
