Why I Love Collage

Artist Trading Card Swap Received

We have received our artist trading cards from Mini Matisse‘s MEGA HUGE ATC SWAP! I really love this folk art landscape by Walt Curlee.  This would be good to show students to demonstrate perspective and depth techniques. How to Make Artist Trading Cards using Coffee Filters

My third grade students recently made these fun Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs for short.)  They are sized at 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and they were made using a fun technique on coffee filters. Here are some of the Artist Trading Cards my students made for the ATC swap that Nic Hahn is coordinating.  The students filled out a sheet for the back with information about their card. Halloween is almost here!  We’ve been having fun with a variety of Halloween art projects.  Kindergartners made collage pumpkins with a variety of tactile materials like feathers, yarn and foam shapes. First graders made texture rubbing pumpkin pictures and traced leaves from construction paper.  Second graders made pumpkin patch pictures with water soluble crayons, paints and Sharpies.
